Born in Leeds on 21/03/1951 was educated at Moorlands and Oundle.
In business was joint MD of Centaur Clothes, sold to Wm Baird in 1991. Through the hobby of Rally driving started his own Motor retail Business in 1976. The main Group Nidd Vale he sold to the management team in 2003 having demerged his Mercedes Businesses which he then sold in 2006.
He is currently Chairman of Yorkshire Ventures which has a small residential property portfolio as well as a 50% stake in United Health Care Group. This handles Elderly Care with specialist dementia units, a division for profound learning disabilities as well as a Children in care division. Other business interests include being Non Exec Chair of NCI an online Insurance business specialising in Vehicle Recovery, Pet and Motor cover.
Hobbies include Rally Driving, Running and Game Shooting.
Charities include P.H.A.B. (Patron since 1979), St John Ambulance (former Chair of Council), Trustee West Yorkshire Medic response team and Prince’s Trust (Yorkshire Chair for 14 years).
Married to Elaine, 2 children, 2 Step Children and 7 Grandchildren.
