Started life as an engineer at Reliance Mercury Ltd., part of Marshalls Plc. moving to the landscape section in 1984. In 2005 he headed up the Corporate Social Responsibility Department at Marshalls Plc. He has coached junior rugby union for 15 years at Old Brods Rugby Club and is Deputy Chair of Governors at Northowram Junior School. He sits on the Overgate Hospice Corporate Steering Team and has to date raised well over £100K for a range of worthy charities within Yorkshire. He was a ‘purple’ volunteer during the 2012 London Olympics.
