Jeremy was born in Leeds and has lived most of his life in West Yorkshire.
For many years he worked in his family menswear business in a number of roles.
He became a Deputy Lieutenant in 2001 and was High Sheriff of West Yorkshire in 2009/10. He subsequently became Chairman of the High Sheriffs’ Association of England and Wales, a post he held for five years.
Jeremy has been Honorary Consul of France in Leeds for over thirty years and was honoured by the French Republic with the “Ordre National de Mérite” in 2005 and the “Légion d’Honneur” in 2013.
He has been involved with a number of charities, both locally and nationally, and is currently President of Leeds Civic Trust.
Jeremy has been married to Martine for over 40 years and they have two grown-up children.
