Jonathon Hammond Booth, DL

 Jon Hammond Booth

Jon Hammond Booth’s initial ambition was to be an auctioneer and so trained as a surveyor; however, the opportunity arose to be a DJ in Europe. It was then a natural progression to move into broadcasting, initially as a DJ in commercial radio and then for many years presenting and producing with the BBC. His wide-ranging broadcast experience includes presenting documentaries, light entertainment, factual and news.>/p>

He is an author and recognised specialist in effective communication, advising organisations worldwide on strategy and effective message delivery.

As well as this, Jon has a passion for helping the next generation, and can often be seen inspiring young people to develop effective communication skills.

With a zest for life and a firm belief in ‘putting back’, Jon has helped raise substantial funds for many charitable organisations across West Yorkshire and the UK.

He is a Vice-President of Northern Ballet, has served on the boards of NBT, the Royal Armouries, the Frazier History Museum (Kentucky USA) and York St John University.

Jon and his wife Beverley live in Holmfirth; they have three grown children and two grandchildren.
