Dr Kuldip Kaur Bharj OBE,DL

Kuldip is a British midwife and academic, currently employed as a maternity investigator by Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch and is a Visiting Associate Midwifery Professor at the University of Leeds. She is a Trustees of the Foundation of Nursing Studies.

Kuldip has nearly fifty years engagement in midwifery spanning education, research and practice. As a senior academic, she has undertaken a wide range of strategic roles resulting in a proven track record in management and leadership. She has comprehensive experience of provision and delivering healthcare education within an interprofessional environment.

Throughout her professional life she has been dedicated to excellence in the provision and delivery of education and practice, contributing to the development and implementation of cutting edge education and health services. She has championed the equality agenda, bringing voices of all women and students, in particular those whose voices are seldom heard, from the margin to the centre. Having successfully led on issues of equal opportunities has equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate the generation of culturally sensitive and appropriate healthcare for service users and their carers.

Kuldip was listed as one of the 350 Sikh women in Education by the Sikh Network in 2017. She is also the President of the Ramgarhia Gurdwara, Bradford.
