Colonel Patrick Cairns, DL, MA BA (Hons)

Colonel Patrick Cairns is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Police Treatment Centres; a Harrogate based charity that treats ill and injured police officers from across the UK for a variety of physical and psychological illnesses and injuries. He is also CEO of St George’s Police Children’s Trust which is a separate charity that supports the children of police officers who have died or been medically incapacitated.

He was a career army officer who was commissioned into the Royal Military Police (RMP) in 1986. Over the next 28 years he served around the world in a variety of roles as a Commander, a Staff Officer and a leadership trainer/instructor, and has served on operations in Northern Ireland, the Former Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

He remains an active supporter of both military and police charities, and keen to contribute to the development of future leaders in policing, he is also a Senior External Assessor for the College of Policing.
